ClickUp also requires users to email or contact customer support using a form on its site. One thing that differentiates ClickUp from Trello and other software in this category is its live chat. This feature isn’t as common in project management tools. 

ClickUp makes it easier for users to get help because it has a private Facebook group, live and on-demand webinars, and a YouTube channel. You can also sign up for ClickUp University and choose from more than 20 self-paced classes.

Trello’s Premium and Enterprise plans are cheaper than ClickUp’s Business and Business Plus plans. However, you might end up paying more with Trello if you use Power-Ups. These are apps that provide additional integrations and features to Trello. 

For example, you can purchase Trello Power-Ups to track cross-collaboration tasks, automate tasks, or allow users to vote on cards. Power-Ups created by Trello are free, but most third-party Power-Ups cost at least $1 per month per user.

The winner: It’s a tie between Trello and ClickUp. Trello is cheaper, but users would pay for Power-Ups to enjoy the same features available on ClickUp.

Reporting

Users under ClickUp’s Free plan can export project data in CSV format and use it for Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, and other similar apps. However, users on ClickUp’s Free and Unlimited plans can only export five data per view. By contrast, only Trello users with Premium plans can export data in CSV format.

Time Tracking

Trello and ClickUp have time-tracking tools that allow you to track the number of hours team members spend on tasks. However, this feature isn’t built into Trello — you’ll need to use a Power-Up to track time. This entails additional fees.

ClickUp has a native time-tracking feature available for all membership plans. With this feature, you can track time from ClickUp’s desktop app, web browser (using ClickUp’s Chrome extension), or mobile app. 

ClickUp users also have the option to create customized time sheets and run time tracking reports. For example, tracking time estimates of tasks and comparing them to the actual time spent on completing tasks. 

If you’re using a different time-tracking tool, don’t fret, as you can integrate it with ClickUp. This means team members can continue using a time-tracking tool they’re already familiar with alongside ClickUp.
